BARTOLOME – SULLIVAN BAY
SULLIVAN BAY: Dry landing / Wet landing
This site is of great geological interest. It is located southeast of James Island, the landing can be performed
either in the rocky shore (dry landing) or the white sand beach (wet landing). The length of the trail is
approximately 1.5 km. The huge eruption that happened in this place in the late 1800s is clear evidence of the
volcanic past of the islands. 200 m around the landing, you can see patterns of vegetation that were burned during
the eruption.
BARTOLOME
Bartolome offers emblematic sceneries of the Galapagos Islands. A 600 meter pathway complete with stairs and a
boardwalk will take you to the highest point of the island where you will be able to learn about the volcanic
origins of the Galapagos Islands and have a splendid panoramic view of the island and the majestic Pinnacle
Rock. The old crater in the island’s interior makes interesting hiking, and there are beautiful sand beaches.
Along the coastline you will have the opportunity to see the Galapagos penguin and sea lions. Depending on the
shedule of the day, you will be able to do snorkeling at Sullivan Bay or at
Bartolome Island.
